Section 4: Explain Your Answer to this Appeal

We feel our new taxable value and SEV is disproportionate to our neighbors that also

transferred property in 2024 and 2025. For example 1939 Lake St. has a lower taxable

value but is larger, newer, sold for more and is currently worth significantly more. (two

doors down and same proximity to lake Macatawa)

Our taxable value and SEV went from 199,000 and 166,000 in 2024 to 247,000 and

247,000 in 2025. The assessor is using a interior remodel as the reason to increase our

values again in 2026 but we did not change the footprint of the house and it is still less

square feet than our neighbors at 1939 Lake St. We also have one of the smallest lots

and only two bedrooms which affects the value.

If your property is NOT residential property and the State Equalized Value or Taxable Value in contention is $100,000.01 or greater the appeal does not qualify for
