STATE OF MICHIGAN GRETCHEN WHITMER GOVERNOR DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS LANSING MARLON I. BROWN, DPA DIRECTOR MICHIGAN TAX TRIBUNAL · 611 W. OTTAWA ST., LANSING, MI 48933 · 517-335-9760 PO BOX 30232, LANSING, MI 48909 · Other Carriers: 2407 N. GRAND RIVER AVE., LANSING, MI 48906 John Maxey, Petitioner, MICHIGAN TAX TRIBUNAL SMALL CLAIMS DIVISION v MTT Docket No. 26-000953 City Of Ann Arbor, Respondent. ORDER OF DISMISSAL The Tribunal has considered the file in this case and finds that: The issue in this case is already pending in another case and, as such, this appeal is duplicative and shall be dismissed. Therefore, IT IS ORDERED that the case is DISMISSED. This order resolves all pending issues and closes the case. APPEAL RIGHTS If you disagree with the final decision in this case, you may file a motion for reconsideration with the Tribunal or a claim of appeal with the Michigan Court of Appeals. A motion for reconsideration must be filed with the Tribunal with the required filing fee within 21 days from the date of entry of the final decision. Because the final decision closes the case, the motion cannot be filed through the Tribunal’s web-based e-filing system; it must be filed by mail or personal service. The fee for the filing of such motions is $50.00 in the Entire Tribunal and $25.00 in the Small Claims Division, unless the Small Claims decision relates to the valuation of property and the property had a principal residence exemption of at least 50% at the time the petition was filed or the decision relates to the grant or denial of a poverty or disabled veterans exemption and, if so, there is no filing fee. You are required to serve a copy of the motion on the opposing party by mail or personal service or by email if the opposing party agrees to electronic service, and proof demonstrating that service must be submitted with the motion. Responses to motions for reconsideration are prohibited and there are no oral arguments unless otherwise ordered by the Tribunal. Alternatively, you may file a claim of appeal with the Michigan Court of Appeals. If the claim is filed within 21 days of the entry of the final decision, it is an “appeal of right.” If

CITY OF ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN 301 East Huron St, P.O. Box 8647, Ann Arbor. Michigan 48107 (734) 794 - 6530 ASSESSOR'S OFFICE April 20, 2026 MAXEY JOHN 2619 NW 95TH ST SEATTLE WA 98117 PROPERTY IDENTIFICATION: 09-09-19-110-012 PROPERTY ADDRESS: 1512 NEWPORT RD Dear Property Owner: The City of Ann Arbor Assessor’s Office received notification of the transfer of the above-mentioned property. This conveyance resulted in a transfer of ownership; therefore, the taxable value should have uncapped the year following the transfer. As such, a correction of taxable value for the relevant years has been issued. Public Act 415 of 1994 requires the “uncapping” of the taxable value of a property in the year following a transfer of ownership. The filing of a Property Transfer Affidavit (form L-4260) within 45 days of the transfer is mandatory. It is the Assessor’s responsibility to “uncap” the taxable value of a property when a transfer of ownership has taken place. Enclosed is Michigan Department of Treasury Form 3214, Assessor Affidavit Regarding Uncapping of Taxable Value, for the relevant year(s). Failure to adjust the taxable value in the year immediately following the transfer produced an erroneous taxable value that was not in compliance with the GPTA (General Property Tax Act). The taxable values of any subsequent years must also be recalculated using the initial uncapped taxable value as the base. Therefore, the taxable value of the subject property has been changed for the relevant tax years as shown on the enclosed Michigan Department of Treasury Form 3214. The Treasurer has been notified of the change(s) in taxable value. If you disagree with the determination that a transfer of ownership occurred that resulted in the taxable value of the transferred property to be uncapped, you may appeal this decision within 35 days of this notice to the Michigan Tax Tribunal at P.O. Box 30232, Lansing, MI 48909 (www.michigan.gov/taxtrib). Sincerely, OFFICE OF THE CITY OF ANN ARBOR ASSESSOR

John Maxey 2619 NW 95th St Seattle, WA 98117 May 14, 2026 Michigan Tax Tribunal P.O. Box 30232 Lansing, MI 48909 Property Identification: 09-09-19-110-012 Property Address: 1512 Newport Rd To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to inform the tax tribunal that my initial response and petition to appeal the uncapping of taxable value on my property, which was sent via usps priority mail, appears to be lost in transit or in some type of doom loop. It has made two trips to the Lansing distribution center and for some reason is being sent back out to loop or is delayed for some unknown reason. The only reason I sent the initial petition on May 4th in hard copy form was because the e-filing system was down for maintenance. I sincerely apologize if this creates a duplicate petition, payment, and filing. I am hopeful that this online filing today, May 14th, will override the hard copy one, if and when it arrives. I do not want to risk going over the 35 day response window. Best Regards, John Maxey
