Section 4: Issues Being Appealed (check all that apply)

Poverty Exemption, Taxable Value Only (calculation)

Section 5: Explain the Reason for this Appeal

I. The city of Detroit accessors office said they sent a survey for years 2022 and 2023 for homestead property to my home, and that I didn't return it in a timely

manner. They actually sent it to a former home and I didn't receive it, until a month or two later. Upon receiving the survey, I immediately contacted the assessor's

office to explain why I hadn't responded to the survey and asked for consideration to respond.

I applied for property homestead tax in 2021 when I purchased my home and then again in 2022, 2023, and 2024, because I noticed I had not received one yet.

II. I was never given a denial for any of the years 2022 or 2023 until December 2023, of which I appealed within the 35 days required. The denial stated the reason

was that did not occupy the property and I have occupied the home for 2 years and 8 months now.

Then in January of 2024 I received a 10,000.00 bill, for each year 2023, 2024 at the same time from the Wayne County treasurer's office saying that I owed back

taxes.

II. The denial is unfair and egregious, because the form for the assessor's offices was sent to an incorrect address, and they had my correct address. Tax valuation is

too high and doesn't line up with similar properties on the same block. The tax for the property when I bought it was$1400.00 that's why I bought it, I could afford it.

I was denied a homestead property tax exemption, because they said I didn't live in the property, and I do.

I wanted a quiet neighborhood to retire in and this was affordable. My taxes is higher than any one in my community, and there is no justification for it. he city put a

20,000.00 tax lien on my property because I didn't fill out a survey they never sent me, but instead sent it to a former address. I am appealing theses reasons.
