$25.00 will be added for each additional parcel being appealed, not to exceed a total filing fee of $1,000.

if your property is residential property (see MCL 205.762) and

the State Equalized Value or Taxable Value in contention is:

ATTACHMENT

I filed a petition with the Orangeville Township Board of Review to protest the

increase in the assessed and taxable value of my home. The proposed

assessed value was due to increase by 15.92% or $27,300 for a total of

$198,700. The Board of Review approved my petition in part by reducing the

assessed value to $170,500, however, the reduction in the taxable value was

denied.

In 2021,

1 had petitioned both the Orangeville Township Board of Review and

the Michigan Tax Tribunal (#21-003383) to protest the original assessed and

taxable value of my home and was denied on both accounts.

| believe that,

had

| better understood what documentation was necessary to prove my case,

both the assessed and taxable values would have been adjusted.

I am now petitioning the Michigan Tax Tribunal for a decrease in the taxable

value of my home to $121,048. The approved decrease in my assessed value

indicates that my home has been overvalued since the original assessment

in 2021. My argument is as follows:

Each year my assessed value has increased or an increase has been

warranted as a result of the housing market as follows:

e

2024 increase of 15.92%

e

2023 increase of 15.96%

e

2022 increase of 8%, according to the Grand Rapids Association of

Realtors for Barry County

If the current assessed value of $170,500 were to be decreased by the

percentage of increases over the last 3 years, the original assessed value for

2021 should have been $117,444 and the original taxable value should have

been calculated as $106,287.

Incorporating the inflation rate multiplier for 2022, 2023 and 2024, my
