STATE OF MICHIGAN GRETCHEN WHITMER GOVERNOR DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS LANSING MARLON I. BROWN, DPA DIRECTOR 2 of 3 Based on recent home sales and current listings for comparable homes (documents will be uploaded), the valuation is too high. M home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath with attached 2 car garage and an unfinished basement. It has 1513 square feet of finished living area and is on a 0.67 acre lot. I purchased this home in March of 2025. Assessed previous value at that time was, $164,900. When I purchased the home it was assessed at $405,000. 90% of the trees on my lot suffered substantial or total destruction. Approximately 20 trees had to be cut down and removed. There are still damaged trees on this lot as well as throughout the neighborhood. Your current notice has an assessed value of $221,000 and an increase of $55,200. My neighbors assessment only went up $11,000. His how is twice the size of mine. Also there are 2 current listings that are larger homes and listed below $360,000. I believe the current assessment is unreasonable and extremely high. I am requesting you lower my assessment to a reasonable amount that is based on current market conditions and comparison home values. Jurisdictional Issues: Did you protest the assessment at a Board of Review? Yes If Yes, check which Board of Review you attended: March If No, please check the applicable reason(s): Year(s) Under Appeal: 2025 Valuation Information for Each Parcel under Appeal: Parcel Number: 69-011-425-000-028-00 Classification of Property: Real (check one) Residential (check one) Current Assessed Value as established by the Board of Review: 212600 Current Taxable Value as established by the Board of Review: 212600 What do you believe is the fair market value? 365000 Multiply the True Cash Value by .5 and enter here. This is your contention of Assessed Value. 182500 If you believe the Taxable Value differs from your contention of Assessed Value, enter your contention of Taxable Value. 182500
