STATE OF MICHIGAN GRETCHEN WHITMER GOVERNOR DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS LANSING MARLON I. BROWN, DPA DIRECTOR 2 of 3 We feel that our original uncapping was inconsistent with homes of similar value in our township, and that the current assessment far exceeds our home's market value. The information provided shows dramatic increases and decreases in our assessment, which do not reflect the real estate market in the area. This information is being provided to you in table form. There are only a few similar homes on our lake currently on the market that provide a fair comparison. After learning that our appeal was denied, we have placed our home on the market for the township's determination. There have been zero inquiries or showings since listing our home for sale, which seems inconsistent with home sales in our area. We are providing all the information that was provided to the township, along with their decision, for your review. We also feel that the township should be responsible for all fees to get a second opinion. Jurisdictional Issues: Did you protest the assessment at a Board of Review?
