Section 4: Issues Being Appealed (check all that apply)

True Cash and Taxable Value, Uncapping of Taxable Value

Section 5: Explain the Reason for this Appeal

I am submitting this second appeal because I believe the assessed value of my property remains inaccurate and does not reflect its true market value or current

condition.

The valuation appears to be based on generalized market trends rather than the specific characteristics of my home. The property is significantly outdated and

requires substantial updates and repairs. In particular, there is an active water leak in the basement that will require costly repairs, which directly impacts the home’s

value and livability. These factors were not adequately considered in the original assessment.

Additionally, comparable properties in similar condition within my area indicate a lower market value than what has been assigned. Based on my research, I believe

the fair market value of my home falls between $179,000 and $199,000, which would support a significantly lower assessed value than currently determined.

The current assessment has also created a financial hardship. The increase in property taxes at this level is making homeownership increasingly unaffordable and is

not sustainable given the condition of the property and necessary repair costs.

For these reasons, I respectfully request a reconsideration of my property’s assessed value to ensure it reflects its true market condition, necessary repairs, and fair

market comparisons.

Yes

Are you appealing ONLY the denial of a Poverty Exemption?

Yes

The filing fee is based on the greater of the State Equalized Value or Taxable Value in contention. If you are appealing more than one parcel, the parcel with the

appealed, not to exceed a total filing fee of $1,000.

the State Equalized Value or Taxable Value in contention is: Filing Fee is:

$100,000.00 and under $125.00

$100,000.01 to $500,000.00 $200.00

$Over $500,000.00 $300.00

If your property is NOT residential property (see MCL 205.762) and

the State Equalized Value or Taxable Value in contention is: Filing Fee is:

$100,000.00 and under $250.00

* Plus $25.00 for each additional parcel, as indicated above.

If your property is NOT residential property and the State Equalized Value or Taxable Value in contention is $100,000.01 or greater the appeal does not qualify for

Small Claims. Therefore, an Entire Tribunal petition must be filed.
