SECTION 4: EXPLAIN THE REASON FORE THIS APPEAL

Our Village of Bingham Farms has passed a special assessment for road reconstruction to which

|

agree.

My wife and

| have owned three adjacent parcels of land on Bingham Road since 1972. Our home is

on the center parcel.

This home and property is integral to the history of early Oakland County. We intend to maintain

this house and land in its pastoral setting.

A public hearing was held on March 24, 2025.

| was not able to attend because

| had cataract surgery that day.

| spoke to Mr. Ken Marten (Village Manager) the next day.

He told me that the assessment applied

only to the address of the home and not the separate parcels and we would receive one

assessment.

All three parcels fall under the same address so

| saw no reason to oppose or appeal

that assessment at the April 28 Public Hearing.

| subsequently found out that that the information from Mr. Marten was incorrect.

He has acknowledged his error and stated that the village has no objection to the Michigan Tax

Tribunal to hear my claims.

All three parcels have been assessed separately.

I was told that only two property owners owned more than one parcel in this entire village. One

other property owner has two parcels and

| have three. Another property owner in this village has

greater acreage than ours.

| vociferously object to this method of assessment and believe it is unfair.

| wish to appeal this assessement.
