STATE OF MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING & REGULATORY AFFAIRS MICHIGAN TAX TRIBUNAL SMALL CLAIMS DIVISION 2 of 3 Check which of the following you are appealing: (check all that apply) True Cash and Taxable Values Please Explain the Reason for this Appeal: The City of Port Huron (Zoning Department) has permitted illegal short-term rentals in the two adjoining properties to the south for decades. This has adversely impacted the value of the subject property without proper accounting by the City of Port Huron. Between the never-ending stream of short-term rentals and the failure of the City to monitor and control the adjoining public beach property, the appellant should be paying less in taxes as these issues have greatly impacted by the property value. The City has failed to take these issues into consideration and reduce the assessment accordingly. Please see the attached written protest of the assessment for greater detail (which was filed with the City of Port Huron). Jurisdictional Issues: Did you protest the assessment at a Board of Review? Yes If Yes, check which Board of Review you attended: March If No, please check the applicable reason(s): Year(s) Under Appeal: 2015 to present Valuation Information for Each Parcel under Appeal: Parcel Number: 06-404-0005-000 Classification of Property: Real (check one) Residential (check one) Current Assessed Value as established by the Board of Review: 276300 Current Taxable Value as established by the Board of Review: 186714 What do you believe is the fair market value? 325000 Multiply the True Cash Value by .5 and enter here.
