Section 5: Explain the Reason for this Appeal
| am writing to appeal the current property assessment for my home at 28064 Norwood
Ave because the value listed by the City of Warren is significantly higher than it should
be.
| purchased this home in 2023 for $260,000, and based on standard assessment
practices, the assessed value should be roughly half of the purchase price—around
$130,000. Using that figure, my Estimated Property Tax for a Principal Residence
should be approximately $6,553, yet my current tax bill is $9,122, which is far above
what is reasonable. The city has listed the assessed value as $178,960, a number that
does not reflect the actual market value or the price
| paid. This large discrepancy
appears to be a miscalculation, and the resulting tax amount has created a financial
burden for me.
| am requesting a fair reassessment that accurately reflects the true
value of my property so that my taxes are calculated correctly.
