STATE OF MICHIGAN GRETCHEN WHITMER GOVERNOR DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS LANSING ORLENE HAWKS DIRECTOR Michigan 48085 Taxing Authority: City Of Troy (OAKLAND) County: Oakland Classification of Property: Personal Residential Section 4: Check which of the following you are appealing Principal Residence Exemption Section 5: Explain the Reason for this Appeal I bought the property in October 2014 and decided to transfer it to my parents' name in 2021. However, as of today, the property is registered in both my parents' and my names. Since purchasing it, this property has always been my primary residence. When I went to the assessor's office in Troy to address this, the lady there immediately made the changes without hearing my side of the story. Despite my attempts to explain that the property had always been my primary residence, she disregarded my input because the property was in my parents' name, even though their primary residence is in Florida. I urge you to vote in my favor and lower the property taxes to their previous level. I cannot afford an increase in property taxes as I have been unemployed for the past year, and finding a job has been challenging. I would greatly appreciate your help, THANK YOU RAMI SWEIDAN Section 6: Jurisdictional Issues List the year(s) denied: 1 Indicate who denied the exemption under appeal: Local Unit If you checked “other” above, explain: List the date the Principal Residence Exemption or Qualified Agricultural Exemption was denied: OCT 2021 Fee Information A fee of $25.00 is required for the filing of this appeal unless you possess a Principal Residence Exemption of at least 50% at the time of the filing of this petition.
