STATE OF MICHIGAN GRETCHEN WHITMER GOVERNOR DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS LANSING MARLON I. BROWN, DPA DIRECTOR 2 of 3 To the Presiding Judge of the Michigan Tax Tribunal, I am writing to formally appeal the assessed and taxable value of the above-referenced property. It is my contention that the current valuation is significantly higher than the property’s true cash value and is inconsistent with the assessed values of comparable homes in the immediate area. The current assessment does not accurately reflect the physical condition or the features of the property. I request a reduction in the taxable value based on the following factors: Uninhabitable Condition: The residence is currently unoccupied and in a non-livable state. It lacks basic utility connections essential for occupancy, specifically a gas hookup, which significantly diminishes its market value compared to functional residences. Errors in Property Records: The tax information for this parcel mistakenly includes features that do not exist. Specifically, the assessment accounts for a fence and professional landscaping. In reality, the property has neither a fence nor any landscaping, as it remains in a raw or neglected state. Lack of Uniformity: Based on a review of comparable properties in Bangor Township, the subject property is assessed at a higher rate per square foot than similar homes that are in superior, livable condition and possess the amenities mistakenly attributed to my property. Enclosed please find supporting documentation, including photographs of the exterior/interior and proof of a comparable property assessment. I respectfully request that the Michigan Tax Tribunal review these discrepancies and adjust the taxable value to reflect the home's true condition and actual physical characteristics. Thank you for your time and consideration of this appeal. William E. Doran, Sr. Jurisdictional Issues: Did you protest the assessment at a Board of Review? Yes If Yes, check which Board of Review you attended: March If No, please check the applicable reason(s): Year(s) Under Appeal: 2026 Valuation Information for Each Parcel under Appeal: Parcel Number: 09010-008-200-030-00 Classification of Property: Real (check one) Residential (check one) Current Assessed Value as established by the Board of Review: 28400 Current Taxable Value as established by the Board of Review: 28400 What do you believe is the fair market value? 10000
