STATE OF MICHIGAN GRETCHEN WHITMER GOVERNOR DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS LANSING ORLENE HAWKS DIRECTOR Michigan 48114 Taxing Authority: Township Of Hartland (LIVINGSTON) County: Livingston Classification of Property: Real Agricultural Section 4: Check which of the following you are appealing Qualified Agricultural Exemption Section 5: Explain the Reason for this Appeal Property is farmed by MI Family Farm for hay production. MFF and petitioner also harvest sap and produce maple syrup for MFF direct to consumer sales. All of the property is either farmed for hay or maple syrup. As a point of interest, petitioner (through and LLC) owns an adjacent parcel which is also leased to MFF. Although there is significantly less maple syrup produced from the adjacent parcel (hay production being more significant), Hartland Township approved the agricultural exemption on the adjacent piece but denied the exemption for the parcel subject to this appeal. Petitioner provided the same level of documentation is support of farming to Hartland Township. Petitioner respectfully requests the Tax Tribunal to grant the agricultural exemption as all of the property is used for farming purposes.
