I recently became aware of these charges and would like to bring to your attention that I have been deployed overseas in support of the U.S. military operations, and I did not receive any prior notice or communication regarding this matter, especially that we were under lock down for more than 15 months due to COVID situation. I have been working with the Military and deployed to Iraq and currently Kuwait, serving in support of military operations. Due to the nature of my deployment, I have had limited access to mail and official correspondence, which has prevented me from responding or addressing this issue in a timely manner. I respectfully request that my situation be reviewed in light of this. I am willing and prepared to provide all necessary documentation confirming my deployment status, including military orders and a letter from my commanding officer if needed.

Given the circumstances, I kindly ask for any of the following as appropriate: Reconsideration or waiver of the supplemental tax charges incurred; An opportunity to submit documentation to support my claim; Any possible adjustment or relief under relevant military or hardship provisions.
