OTTAWA ST., LANSING, MI 48933 · 517-335-9760 PO BOX 30232, LANSING, MI 48909 · Other Carriers: 2407 N. GRAND RIVER AVE., LANSING, MI 48906 Wychwood Cottages LLC, MICHIGAN TAX TRIBUNAL Petitioner, v MTT Docket No. 24-003607 Crystal Lake Township, Presiding Judge Respondent. Patricia L. Halm ORDER GRANTING JOINT MOTION FOR IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION ORDER GRANTING JOINT MOTION TO EXTEND ORDER REMOVING CASE FROM DECEMBER 1-15, 2025 PREHEARING GENERAL CALL ORDER PLACING CASE ON MARCH 16-31, 2026 PREHEARING GENERAL CALL ORDER DISMISSING BENZIE COUNTY AS RESPONDENT On July 29, 2025, the parties filed a joint motion requesting that the Tribunal extend the deadline to valuation disclosures in this case by 90 days. The parties also requested immediate consideration of the Motion to Extend. The Tribunal has considered the motion and the case file and finds that immediate consideration is warranted given the joint nature of the filing. Further, the parties have shown good cause and granting the requested extension will facilitate the efficient administration of justice by providing the parties additional time to conduct discovery, engage in settlement negotiations, and prepare their cases for hearing. Finally, the petition in this matter lists the respondents as Crystal Lake Township and Benzie County, with the action under appeal being the uncapping of the subject property’s taxable value. While Benzie County may be responsible for collecting the additional tax revenue resulting from the uncapping, Crystal Lake Township is the unit of government responsible for the uncapping and as such, is the sole respondent. Given this, it is appropriate to dismiss Benzie County as a party in this case. Therefore, IT IS ORDERED that the Joint Motion for Immediate Consideration is GRANTED. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Joint Motion to Extend is GRANTED.
