Lincoln Rd Traverse City, MI 49684 Re: Thomas Peckham Principal Residence Exemption Tax ID: 45-004-032-036-10 Dear Miss Jones: Our office represents the legal interest of Thomas Peckham. This correspondence is to address the Notice of Denial Principal Residence Exemption from your office. The notice states the Principal Residence Exemption was denied because my client “does not own principal residence adjacent to receive this exemption.” Thomas Peckham does own a Principal Residence adjacent to the above referenced Property. I have enclosed herein the Warranty Deeds for the subject property as well as a Warranty Deed for the adjacent property. Note that these were done on two separate deeds by TransNation Title Agency due to the fact that the properties are in different counties. I have also included a survey of the subject property so you can see all the property purchased by my client and that the subject property is adjacent to his principal residence. Last, please note that my client purchased the property from Richard I. Paid, Jr. and Debra L. Paid. Note that the Paids also received a Principal Residence Exemption on the subject property (Principal Residence Exemption status for this property in 2025 was 100%). I would appreciate it if you would approve my client’s Principal Residence Exemption for the property to avoid a proceeding at the Tax Tribunal.
