Re: Amendment to Requested Valuation Petitioner: Kaci J. Jackson Respondent: City of Detroit MTT Docket No.: 25-003411 Hearing Date: December 15, 2026 To the Presiding Administrative Law Judge / Tribunal Hearing Officer: Update to Contention of Value: In my initial appeal petition, I conservatively requested a valuation reduction to $53,810. However, as detailed in my primary documentation filing, the City of Detroit Assessor subsequently conducted an on-site field review in March 2026, physically verified the severe structural defects (including the sloping subfloor and bowing main support beam), and officially adjusted the property’s Assessed Value down to $9,000 (reflecting a True Cash Value of $18,000). Because these identical structural defects existed on December 31, 2024 for tax year 2025, my original $53,810 request overstated the property's true cash value. I respectfully amend my contention of value for tax year 2025 and request that the Tribunal adjust the 2025 Assessed Value and Taxable Value downward to align with the lower valuation baseline officially established by the City's own field review findings.
